Cheating cases

One James Sangma and eight other agents of Nile Agro International lodged a complaint at Mendipathar PS that the company has cheated investors of Rs 7,05,782.

Alson Ch. Sangma, Gledwin B. Momin and 12 other agents of Abyas Assam Real Estate Ltd. lodged a complaint at Mendipathar PS that the company collected money amounting to over Rs 42 lakh from investors at Damas, Mendipathar and Dainadubi areas and recently closed down without any notice.

Assault

On December 19, one Did Dlis Nongkhlaw assaulted Lalsiamlien Kharshandi (42) at Pomlum, East Khasi Hills. The victim sustained injuries and was removed to Shillong Civil Hospital.

On December 17 around 10.30 pm, one Fela Sangma assaulted one Maitshaphrang Lyngdoh (29) at Mawiong Umjapung, Shillong. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital.

On December 17, an assault case was reported from Motphran. The victim Skem Nonglait (22) has been shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital.

Abduction

On December 16, police arrested two persons Borgen K. Marak and Wainit Ch. Marak in connection with a kidnapping/abduction case lodged at Rongjeng PS.

Theft

On December 18 at around 11 pm, five unidentified miscreants travelling in an Alto car waylaid a truck at Puriang East Khasi Hills. They looted Rs 5,700, the vehicle’s battery and documents after assaulting the driver Ramsing Basumatary.

On December 17, residents of Mawlai Mawdatbaki apprehended two minor boys – aged 8 and 13 – while they were stealing iron rods from a construction site belonging to Smt. Hanna Agresia Shanpru.

On December 16 around 2 pm, unknown miscreants stole one Maruti Gypsy (ML-04-7297) belonging to one Ram Rymbai from Mookhep East Jaintia Hills.

Body recovered

On December 17 at around 5 pm, the body of one Joneson Swer was found hanging from a tree at Thanguniaw jungle, East Khasi Hills. Police suspect that the deceased had committed suicide. Enquiry is on.

Threat case

One Justphin Dkhar lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on December 16 around 7 pm, her husband Shamir Debbarman threatened her with dire consequences at Jalyiah village East Jaintia Hills.
