Dry day

The deputy commissioner of East Khasi Hills has declared December 24 and 25 and January 1, 2013 as dry days throughout the district on accounts of Christmas festival and New Year. The Deputy Commissioner , South West Khasi Hills District , Mawkyrwat also declared Dry Day on the entire of South West Khasi Hills District on December 24 and 25 and on January 1 on account of New Year’s Day.

Award

Applications are invited from deserving sport persons who have excelled in the field of sport for the ‘Kiang Nangbah Award’ for sport for the year 2012-13. The award comprises of a citation and Rs 50,000 to be awarded on January 21, 2013. The last date of submission of bio-data and details is December 28 in the office of the sport and youth affairs director.
