SHILLONG: On the eighth day of the Ardhendu Chaudhuri Memorial Day & Night Cricket Tournament, organised by the Rilbong Sports & Cultural Club, Laban SC defeat Sales XI by six wickets, while Aurobindo and Royal CC also tasted victory in their respective matches.

Batting first, Sales XI were bowled out for 37 runs, with Debashish scoring 29 of those runs. Laban then chased down the score in 3.5 overs, with Mona remaining not out on 25.

In the second match, Aurobindo beat Victoria by 42 runs, thanks to a score of 63 by Sanju Dey.

Batting first, Aurobindo made a whopping 102 in 12 overs. In reply, Victoria could only manage 60, with Ujwal bagging four wickets for the winners. Subroto scored 26 for Victoria.

In the final match of the day, Royal got past NFU by two wickets, after the latter were bowled out in the first innings for 33 runs, with Rajiv Rymbai taking two wickets.

Royal then chased down the total in 7.4 overs.

In Saturday’s matches, Rilbong A will take on Meghdoot at 5:00pm, with Combine XI and United Boys squaring off at 6:30pm.

Aurobindo will then take on Jhalupara Youth Association in the final match of the day at 8:00pm.
