James launches O2 plant

TURA, Aug 27: Power Minister James Sangma on Friday inaugurated the 20 KL Cryogenic Oxygen Plant at Baljek in Jengjal, in the presence of local MDC Grahambell A Sangma, West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh and other district officials and local leaders.
Inaugurating the oxygen plant, James said the facility would go a long way in boosting healthcare in Garo Hills region. He also lauded Chief Minister Conrad Sangma for his intervention in ensuring that the oxygen plant sees the light of day.
Informing that the oxygen plant will also cater to parts of West Khasi Hills, James said the Health department does not have to import medical oxygen from Bongaigaon in Assam anymore.
Pointing out that Jengjal area was a strategic location, the minister informed that more infrastructural developments would come up in the region.
He also informed that a sub-divisional hospital will soon coming up in Jengjal area.
