NONGSTOIN: In less than a year’s time of his appointment, the Superintendent of Police of West Khasi Hills R Muthu has been transferred from the district. The SP of South West Khasi Hills, Sylvester Nongtnger will hold the additional charge of West Khasi Hills. Sources said that Muthu will take charge as the SP of South West Garo Hills.
Nongtnger, as the SP of East Garo Hills was engaged in counter-insurgency operations including the one involving LAEF’s commander-in-chief Peter Marak in 2007. A new SP in West Khasi Hills will be appointed shortly, sources added.
