Laban SC lift Ardhendu Memorial trophy

SHILLONG: The 2nd Ardhendu Chaudhuri Memorial day and night tennis ball cricket tournament concluded on Sunday with Laban SC lifting the trophy.

Zap X won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 40-7 in 12 overs. In reply, Laban chased down the total in a nailbiting finish with five balls to spare losing five wickets.

The winners took home a Rs 10,000 prize, while the runners-up received Rs 6,000.

Anirban Bhattacharjee of Rilbong B was adjudged the Man-of-the-Tournament and received a cash prize of Rs 1,500. Samjay of Aurobindo was declared the best batsman, Abhijeet Roy of Victoria was adjudged the best bowler and the award for the best sporting team was bagged jointly by Five Star of Lumparing and Rilbong A.
