Itanagar: The People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) has said that the ruling Congress government’s vision for 2013 unveiled on Friday by Chief Minister Nabam Tuki was non-comprehensive and the government is silent over many vital and key issues. “The government’s vision for 2013 is silent about rampant corruption, refugee and immigrant issues, border disputes and very importantly hydro-power. It seems the ruling government is not interested to take up those vital issues during the year,” the party said in a communique here on Sunday.
“Many memorandum of understandings and memorandum of agreements have been signed with various private well as government’s undertaking power developers by the Congress government without prior consent of the dam affected people which, has resulted in unhealthy conflicts between the anti-dam and pro-dam groups,” it added. The recent incidents in Siang Valley should be eye opener to the government. The protest and agitations in Tawang, Siang Valley and Roing are due to wrong policies of the Congress, the PPA alleged.
The party also demanded that the Congress government should issue white paper on the Hydro-Power policy urgently and cancel the dams wherever people are protesting. (PTI)
