MIT Meghalaya inks MoU with international institute

SHILLONG, Sep 16: The MIT University of Meghalaya has joined hands with France-based institute called The Sustainable Design School, Nice, to train future leaders of the state to become environment sensitive in view of the climate change and its adverse effects.
With this association of the two institutes, students pursing Bachelors, Masters, Doctoral, Fellowship programmes at MIT, Shillong, will have an opportunity to study at The Sustainable Design School to gain global perspectives for sustainable solutions, a statement issued here said.
Student’s exchange, faculty development programme and joint research will be the key major factors in this collaboration, it added.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Vice Chancellor of MIT University of Meghalaya, Dr. Malhar Pangrikar, and co-founder of The Sustainable Design School, Nice, France, Prof. Maurille Lariviere.
The graduates from the programmes jointly offered by the two institutes will contribute by participating in policy framing, applying sustainable practices in real business world, and educating the stakeholders of the ecosystem.
