Govt hikes ad hoc teachers' salary

SHILLONG: The State Cabinet on Tuesday enhanced the salary of ad hoc teachers of both Secondary and High Secondary Schools.

Education Minister Dr RC Laloo said that under Secondary, the arts teachers will get a salary of Rs 10,000 from the current Rs 8,000 and science teachers Rs 11,000 from the present Rs 9,000. The higher secondary school teachers will get the salary of Rs 12,000 from the current Rs 10,000.

The cabinet also decided to regularize the services of as many as 53 Junior Divisional Accountants.

Power policy : The Cabinet also decided to amend the power policy to enable transparent bidding process as required by the Union Power Ministry.

Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma said all the power projects upto 100 MW should go through the competitive bidding process as per the standard bidding documents for the sake of transparency.
