Sohra case: Girl was not abducted, says State Police

SHILLONG: The State Police have confirmed that a 22-year-old girl from Assam, who was earlier, suspected to have been kidnapped from Kamrup in Assam and brought to Sohra, had actually eloped on her own with the accused.

Earlier, family members of the girl had complained to Assam Police that the girl identified as one Sabita Rabha from Kamrup district in Assam was kidnapped by one Naren Rabah from Tangla in Assam and brought to Sohra.

The State Police said that after interrogation of the girl at Sohra it was found out that she had accompanied the accused on her own will.
