SHILLONG, Sep 28: The Malki SC will conduct the 1st Knock Out Meghalaya Open Tennis (soft) Ball Cricket Tournament from the last week of October at Malki Ground, Shillong.
A statement issued by the secretary of the club, Rilang Mylliempdah stated that the committee has decided to kick-start the tournament from the last week of October after receiving a green signal from the government.
Clubs from within Meghalaya interested in participating in the tournament can collect the entry forms from Meghalaya Print, near Seven Set School, Malki Point, Shillong on or before the October 23 or contact 9774489159/ 8259801751 for team registrations.
Mylliempdah added that special consideration will given for the regions’ students currently studying in Meghalaya to participate in the tournament. They will, however, be required to produce their college identity cards.
The last date for submission of forms is October 23.
The cash prize for the winning team is Rs 40,000 while the runners-up will receive Rs 20,000.
Also, individual cash prizes for man of the tournament, best bowler of the tournament, best catch of the tournament and man of the match from the semifinal onwards, will be awarded. The entry fee is Rs 4000 for participating clubs.
