Six local athletes to compete in Muay Thai World C’ships

Nongpoh, Oct 6: As many as six athletes from Meghalaya including two girls will be participating in the upcoming senior and junior category of the Muay Thai World Championships to be held at Phuket in Thailand from December 4-12, 2021. as informed by the president of Muay Thai Association of Meghalaya, Angelus Sun while talking to this scribe on Wednesday after a meeting with state Minister of Sports, Banteidor Lyngdoh. He was accompanied by international referee, Pynsuk Sumer.
The male athletes are Pynehbor Mylliemngap in the Elite/45kg (Senior Men, above 23 years), Mightyson Nonglang, Elite/48kg (Senior Men, U-23), Andrew Mariang, 48kg (Junior Boys, U-16), Evinstar Nongspung, 54kg (Junior Boys, under 16 years). Phibashisha Kharmuti, Elite/45kg (Senior Women, U-23) and Mary Christine Wriang, 33kg (Sub Junior Girls, U-12) will be competing in the respective women’s categories.
