Election review meet held in city

SHILLONG: A meeting of the standing committee including the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police and representatives of different political parties was held in the city on Monday.
Various issues pertaining to the upcoming 2013 Assembly election including the model code of conduct besides other issues were discussed in the meeting.
“The meeting discussed the law and order situation pertaining to some polling stations which will be categorized as sensitive,” East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Goyal said after the meeting.
It is learnt that the meeting also discussed certain matters relating to filing of nominations by the party’s respective candidates.
The meeting of the standing committee was called by the Deputy Commissioner under the instruction of the Election Commission.
