SHILLONG, Oct 12: After a gap of two years, the Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) will now hold its general council meeting to elect new office-bearers of the party in the first week of December.
“We were not able to convene the general council meeting in the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We had to convene the general council in December to elect a new body who will lead party,” HSPDP president, KP Pangniang, told reporters after the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting on Tuesday.
He said that the names of the new office-bearers would be submitted to the Election Commission.
Meanwhile, Pangniang said that the party will also be felicitating its workers and volunteers on November 10 as part of 50 years of Meghalaya’s statehood celebrations.
