TURA, Oct 25: The GSU from Raksamgre and the GSMC, Pedaldoba regional unit in West Garo Hills on Monday called on Meghalaya Health Minister James PK Sangma and GHADC CEM Benedic Marak to look into the problems being faced by the people at Raksamgre PHC (PHC).

In a statement issued here, the organizations alleged the non-availability of doctors or an ambulance at the centre forcing the people of the area to travel the long distance to Tikrikilla or to other private hospitals for their various health needs. The organizations pointed out that the unnecessary travel not only poses additional expenditure but is also grueling as the road from Raksamgre to Tikrikilla is in a pitiable condition.

“We urged the Health Minister to look into the matter. The problems of the people should be addressed at the earliest,” the organizations said.
