Assault

On January 21 at around 1.30 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted one Dharmendra Thapa (30) at Polo. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital. Matter is under enquiry.

On January 18 at about 6.35 pm, one Babul Das assaulted one Hussain Barbei (30) with a dao at Mynkre villagein East Jaintia Hills. As a result, the victim sustained grievous injuries and was admitted at Nazareth Hospital, Shillong. The accused has been arrested.

On January 17 at around 2.30 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted Brizil A Sangma and Jeston N Sangma at Balwanggre Market in West Garo Hills. As a result, the victims sustained injuries.

One Md S Hussain lodged a complaint at Umroi PIC that on January 14 at around 4 pm, six unidentified persons hired his Mahindra Bolero (NL-07-4232) from Dimapur for Guwahati. On reaching Umroi Umdoh Byrthih village in Ri-Bhoi, they assaulted him and fled away along with the vehicle after abandoning him there. The driver sustained injuries and was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital. Matter is under investigation.

Body recovered

On January 19 circa 6.30 am, the body of one Tilson Syngkor was recovered from Syndai village in West Jaintia Hills. It is suspected that the deceased was murdered by unknown miscreants. Investigation is in progress.

Theft cases

On January 18 at around 8.30 am, unknown miscreants stole fifteen GI pipes valued around Rs 10,000 from the Sericulture Farm, Lawsohtun.

Police arrested Korlin Lyngkhoi (21) and Kyntiew Suna (32) in connection with a theft case under Laban PS.

B’deshis nabbed

On January 18, Siju police arrested three Bangladeshi nationals Harison R Marak (40), Armosh R Marak (35) and Andro Sangma (40) from Siju in South Garo Hills.

Murder

On January 17 at around 11 am, unknown miscreants murdered one Md Tahin Ahmed (20) and dumped the dead body in a coal quarry at Mulait Bri Sutnga in East Jaintia Hills.
