Assam to translate city author’s book

SHILLONG, Oct 26: The Assam Government has decided to translate Shillong-based author, Salil Gewali’s book, Great Minds on India, into Assamese language.
Only recently, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the author held a meeting during which the former acknowledged the latter’s research-based book and assured its immediate translation and publication in Assamese language.
Furthermore, two scholars from Canada — Air Space Engineer at the University of Toronto, Dr. Hema Murty, and Dr. Harsh H Thakkar of Sheridan College of Brampton, Ontario — have sought permission from Gewali for the translation of Great Minds on India into Sanskrit language.
Moreover, the governments of Karnataka and Punjab had recently decided to translate Gewali’s book into Kannada and Punjabi languages respectively.
