Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has won the title of India’s Prime Icon.

Big B was crowned Thursday by Big CBS Prime’s show “India’s Prime Icon”, where he was competing alongside actors Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan (SRK), Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, A.R. Rahman, and Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, among others.

Amitabh was felicitated by actresses Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma.

“Honoured and humbled that Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma take time out to present me India’s Prime Icon of 2012 at CBS/BigFm,” Amitabh tweeted after winning the title.

“Prime Icon??!! Gosh that is far too far fetched for me … and to have Sachin (Tendulkar), Lataji (Lata Mangeshkar), Aamir, SRK, Modi (Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi), Nitish (Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar)… as contenders,” he further posted.

Also present at the event were director Sudhir Mishra, actress Neetu Chandra and Mr. Anand Chakravarthy, business head – BIG CBS.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better grand finale to the show, with the most deserving, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, being conferred the title of the India’s first ever Prime Icon. Epitomizing the word Icon, we are happy that India has selected the most commendable icon,” Chakravarthy said in a statement. (IANS)
