Misappropriation of SRWP funds

SHILLONG: Deputy Commissioner East Khasi Hills, Sanjay Goyal on Friday said that he had filed an FIR against Pynthorumkhrah Development Committee (PDC) for alleged misappropriation of funds of Corrugated Galvanized Iron Roofing sheets under Special Rural Works programme (SRWP).
“I have filed the FIR against PDC and not against AL Hek and it was filed on the direction of the Community and Rural Development department,” Goyal added.
“The FIR has been filed at the Sadar Police station as certain objections were raised in the CAG audit report,” he said
It may be mentioned that as per the CAG report, for the year ended March 2006-09 an amount of Rs 80 lakh has been sanctioned by the BDO for purchase of 2200 bundles of CGI sheet.
