CM launches training centre, Apollo clinic

TURA, Nov 19: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Friday inaugurated the Residential Training Centre of the UISS, under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDUGKY) at the Extension Training Centre, Dakopgre, in Tura.
The inauguration took place in the presence of West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh besides district officials and other dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Conrad informed about the skill development programmes across the country which are imparting training to the youths in the field of IT, soft skills, communication, etc. with placement opportunities.
He also said that the state government will next year introduce a skill development programme, viz. ‘One Skill One Talent’.
Urging the trainees to be attentive and disciplined while undergoing the skill development training, the chief minister assured his help and support.
CEO of SIRD, JC Lohani, highlighted the achievements of the DDU-GKY in Meghalaya and informed that the training centre will be imparting on Basic IT, soft skills, communication, etc.
Meanwhile, the chief minister also inaugurated the Green Computer Labs and Smart Classrooms at Bidanchi High School and Dobasipara High School respectively as well as the Apollo Clinic at Dakopgre in Tura on the same day.
