SHILLONG: A PHE contractor, K Lato, has filed an FIR at Nongmynsong PS relating to sabotage and vandalisation of a JNNURM project at Umkdait Nongmynsong. In the FIR, the contractor said miscreants had sabotage the work for laying the pipelines for water work at Nongmynsong.
Lato said that around 14-15 block chambers were vandalized by miscreants.
“Such actions will not only create loss but it would also lead to further delay in commissioning of the project,” the contractor said in the FIR.
The matter has also been taken up with the PHE department for necessary action.
The cost of the project is more than one crore rupees and the contractor informed that the project was in its final stage when miscreants resorted to the sabotage.
