MeECL survey

The MeECL has informed that the personnel of TATA Consultancy Service will be conducting a Consumers Survey and Network Survey in Shillong City on behalf of Meghalaya Energy Corporation Ltd. In order to ease the survey work and to cause minimum inconvenience to the consumers, they are requested to leave a copy of their latest electricity bill in their meter box. The MeECL has also requested the cooperation of the local headmen and dorbar on the matter.

Condolence

The Mawlai People Forum while extended their condolences to the bereaved families of two jail staff of Williamnagar Jail, Neil Warjri and Sharai Sing Thabah, who were killed during a recent attack, condemned the cowardice act of the militant outfit and asked the State Police to address the law and order problem in Garo Hills while ensuring safety to the people living and serving in the region.

Unclaimed body

One unidentified male body (35-40 years) with swarthy complexion, medium built, 5’2 ft tall and sporting a yellow long sleeves shirt and a black long pant in a highly decomposed state was found floating on river Umiam (Shella) on February 2. Any person having any knowledge about the identity and address of the deceased can contact Shella PS.
