SHILLONG: The flying quad of the Election department along with the magistrates on Monday rushed to Mawlai ‘Secretariat’ after receiving a complaint that the sitting Mawlai Congress legislator Founder Strong Cajee was distributing money to voters.

When contacted, Mawlai constituency Returning Officer DM Wahlang said that the administration received a complaint that the sitting legislator was distributing money.

“On reaching the spot, we found that it was only a false alarm,” Wahlang added.
