EVM randomization
The Second phase of EVM randomization was done in the Deputy Commissioner office of North Garo Hills recently in presence of all three election observers followed by commissioning of EVMs which took place on February 13.
Arms deposit
The district magistrate of North Garo Hills has asked the people who own any licensed arms to deposit the same in their respective thanas failing which police will take action.
Voter slip
The District Election Officer of South Garo Hills has informed that the booth level officers will distribute voter slip to all the enrolled voters even as he appealed to exercise their right to vote on February 23. He also informed that as per section 171-B to 171F, any one who gifts or takes bribes or gifts in favour or against any body or who threatens any body will be punished with imprisonment upto one year or with fine or both.
Dry day
Dry Days have been declared in the whole state from February 21-23 and also on February 28 in view of the Assembly elections and the day for counting of votes. All liquor shops, restaurant and all licensed premises will remain closed on these dates.
Workshop
The clinical research unit (T), Shillong under the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy will organise a three day workshop on common Gyaenocological Disorders and Promoting Scientific research in homoeopathy on February 18 at 9:30 am at Hotel Assembly.
