9th Ardhendu Chaudhuri Memorial cricket tourney resumes, six matches played

SHILLONG, Jan 2: Marking the New Year, six matches of the 9th Ardhendu Chaudhuri Memorial Invitational Tennis Ball Day & Night Cricket Tournament were played, here on Sunday.
In the first match, Innings won the toss against Free Soul Brothers and fielded first, restricting their opponents to 62 runs in 6 overs. Innings then smashed 67 in just 4.4 overs with Ankit Yadav adjudged Player-of-the-Match.
In another game, Tagore Club batted first after winning the toss against Mawbah Strikers and could only manage 16 runs in 6 overs. Mawbah scored 21 in 0.5 overs. Vikash Lama was the Player-of-the-Match.
Roshni beat MCC Jr by 3 wickets. MCC Jr won the toss and chose to bat first, scoring 42 in 6 overs. Roshni then made 48 in only 3.3 overs. Krishna Chettri was the Player-of-the-Match.
In the evening, Keating registered a mammoth 94-run win against 2nd Innings. Keating Road posted 134/2 in 6 overs, batting first before restricting 2nd Innings to 30/6 in 5.3 overs. Vishal Kanwar was the Player-of-the-Match.
Later, Rangkynsai batted first against Warriors and scored 55 runs in 6 overs. Warriors could only manage 16 runs in the allotted overs. Rommel Jyrwa was the Player-of-the-Match.
In the last match of the day, NWCC beat Aarochesta SC by 4 wickets. Aarochesta won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 31 runs in 6 overs. NWCC knocked off the required runs in just 2.1 overs with Bikram Pradhan earning the Player-of-the-Match award.
