Cluster, Rilbong Superkings, Five Star among wins

SHILLONG, Jan 4: Cluster CC, Rilbong Superkings and Five Star Club emerged victorious in their respective matches of the 9th Ardhendu Chaudhuri Memorial Invitational Tennis Ball Day & Night Cricket Tournament, here on Tuesday.
In the first match of the day, Cluster won the toss and elected to bat first against BHMSCC, posting a total of 78 runs in 6 overs. BHMCC replied firmly with some good batting but could only manage 54 runs in the allotted 6 overs as Cluster CC won the match by 24 runs.
Hamid Sohtun was adjudged Player-of-the-Match for his performance.
Later, Rilbong Superkings fielded first after winning the toss against Moonlight. Moonlight could only get to 31 runs in 6 the allotted 6 overs.
Rilbong Superkings then knocked the required target of 32 in only 2 overs with 5 wickets in hand.
Ajay Rai was named Player-of-the-Match.
In the final match of the day, Sri Balaji CC batted first against Five Star Club after winning the toss and could only manage 26 runs in 6 overs.
Five Star Club were cautious in their approach bu managed to achieve the target in only 3.1 overs, as they won with five wickets remaining.
Joydeep Baidya was named the Player-of-the-Match.
