SHILLONG: The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) has filed a complaint with the Chief Election Officer against the Sardar of Pathar Khmah, Ri Bhoi for not allowing the LJP candidate to hold a public meeting despite having received a permission from the returning officer of Jirang constituency to hold the same on February 18.

LJP candidate from Jirang Martin Lyngdoh complained that he was not allowed to hold a public meeting at Pathar Khmah by the Sardar whereas the Congress candidate has already held a meeting at the same place at about 11am of February 18 and also distributed calendars with the photo of the candidate which he said, is a proof of holding a meeting.

LJP general secretary RG Pradhan in a statement issued here on Wednesday said that it is a clear proof of motivation of Congress party and Sardar of Pathar Khmah has been pumped by the Congress party.

The LJP has asked the CEO to take immediate actions against the Sardar of Pathar Khmah.
