Young Guns, Harisabha win in SCL

SHILLONG: Young Guns CC defeated Clusters CC by six runs and Harisabha CC defeated Boys of Gorkha CC by three wickets in Second Division league matches of the Shillong Cricket League, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, at Polo Grounds.

In the first match, Young Guns won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 107 all out in 19.2 overs. Amit scored 18 while Rajiv took 4-12. In reply, Clusters made a mockery of the run chase and were all out for 101 in 19.4 overs when, at one stage, they were set for a convincing win. Pritom scored a run-a-ball 28 while Kadir took three for 21.

In the second match, Boys of Gorkha won the toss and elected to bat, but were bundled out for 85 in 17.5 overs. Amar scored 15 while Shankar took 4-21. In reply, Harisabha made 88-7 in 14.3 overs. Anshuman scored 19 while Pankaj took three wickets for 13 runs.

Meanwhile, Laban SC and Pinewood CC have qualified for the semifinals, to be played on Friday.
