Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) registration of the Missionaries of Charity (MoC).
The Ministry of Home Affairs had on Saturday restored the FCRA registration of the Charity on Saturday.
The State BJP chief alleged that the AITC is trying to make its presence felt in the state politics by playing a political game on religious lines.
Reacting to the tweets of AITC MLAs, Charles Pyngrope and George Lyngdoh, which stated that the condemnation of the Trinamool supremo, Mamta Banerjee, led to the restoration of FCRA registration, Mawrie said that the AITC should have lauded the BJP-led government at the Centre for restoring the FCRA licence of the Charity.
“The party recognised the charitable service that the Missionaries of Charity is doing for the poor and the downtrodden. It is for this reason that the FRCR registration was restored within a forth night. But the BJP did not take any credit for this,” Mawrie said.
He claimed that State BJP and party minister in the NPP-led MDA Government, Sanbor Shullai, had also written to the Union Home Ministry to expedite the matter.
