Shillong Sixers, Keating Road reach quarter-finals

SHILLONG, Jan 16: Shillong Sixers and Keating Road won their respective quarter-final matches in the 9th Ardhendu Chaudhuri Memorial Invitational Tennis Ball Day & Night Cricket Tournament, here on Sunday to advance into the semis.
In the first quarter-final, Shillong Sixers won the toss and elected to bat first against Rangkynsai CC. The Sixers were bowled out for 72 runs in 7.5 overs.
Rangkynsai batted well but were restricted to 61 runs in the allotted 8 overs with Player-of-the-Match Kushaldeep Singh picking up 3 wickets.
The second quarter-final saw Keating Road win the toss and bat first against Halla Bol Junior, before amassing 78 runs in 8 overs. Halla Bol fought back hard but fell 18 runs short to end their innings at 60 runs in 8 overs.
Keating Road’s Lakhan Singh was adjudged Player-of-the-Match for his two wickets.
