Statehood Day celebration in WGH restricted to limited members

TURA, Jan 19: West Garo Hills (WGH) Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh on Wednesday informed that due to the resurgence of Covid cases in the state and elsewhere in the country, the Meghalaya Day celebration in the district would be restricted to limited members with the participation of few selected citizens by following all necessary Covid protocols such as wearing of mask, social distancing, hand hygiene, etc.

The state’s Golden Jubilee celebration is to take place on January 21 from 10 AM at the DC Park in Tura.

Ram Singh also informed that since the main celebration of 50 years is being hosted at Shillong as per the desire of the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma there would be a live streaming of the function from 11:00 AM at DRDA Conference Hall, Tura.
