SHILLONG, Jan 21: In a joint operation, the Border Security Force and Meghalaya Police recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from an area along the Lakma Nalla (drain) that flows from India to Bangladesh in Borsora, South West Khasi Hills on Friday.
The cache of arms and ammunition was found wrapped in a yellow plastic bag which contained a 0.38 USA made revolver, two magazines, 410 live rounds and 35 EFC.
The forces searched the surrounding area using metal detector but did not find anything else.
The arms were detected around one km inside Indian territory from the international border and around 1.5 km from the Borsora border outpost of 193 Bn BSF.
An FIR was lodged and the arms and ammunition were handed over to the Borsora Police station for further disposal.
