Project launched in NGH to give platform to youth

TURA, Jan 24: With the aim to disseminate employment opportunities to the youth of the region, project SEEL was recently launched in North Garo Hills at Circuit House, Resubelpara.

Project SEEL ( Skill, Entrepreneurship, Employment & Livelihood) is an initiative taken by the District Skill Committee along with District Administration, North Garo Hills to provide opportunities to the youth in skill training, entrepreneurship avenues, employment vacancies and livelihood programmes.

Speaking at the launching of the programme, T D Shira, Deputy Speaker & local MLA said the project will use channels comprising Village Employment councils, SHGs and  Producer Groups formed under various government agencies to mobilize and create awareness on opportunities to the public.

The project is also expected to bring in a demand driven model in mobilization to identify right individuals as beneficiaries under various government programmes.

Others who also took part in the launching were MLAs Rupert Momin, Pongseng Marak, Deputy Commissioner RP Marak, Addl.deputy commissioner ZJ Sangma and other heads of line departments.
