Patna: Assam Regimental Centre, Shillong, defeated Mumbai’s Steed Fast 4-2 in a pool match of the second All India Prize Money Football Championship for Bihar Cup here on Wednesday.
In an another match played at Patliputra Sports Complex ground, MEG, Bangalore, beat Railway Danapur 1-0 thanks to a goal scored by Lokeshwar Singh.
In a thrill-packed first match of the day, Assam Regiment Centre took the lead in the 20th minute through left winger R Lal Rama Bhuiya. But Lukman drew parity for Steed Fast in the 42nd minute.
The Assam Regimental boys, however, restored their lead within two minutes through R Lal Nuthuanoa to go into the breather leading 2-1.
ARC defender P Ajit Kumar Singh increased his side’s tally six minutes after the change of ends with a nice header before Ritesh Sathe reduced the margin in 56th minute.
Medio S Kishen Singh, however, took the match beyond the Mumbai side’s grip by scoring in the 73rd minute. (PTI)
