Six deaths, 288 fresh cases

SHILLONG, Jan 27: In a sudden spike, as many as six patients succumbed to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 1,509. Three deaths were reported from East Khasi Hills, two from Eastern West Khasi Hills and one from South West Khasi Hills.
Also, 288 fresh cases of COVID-19 were detected on Thursday. The active tally stands at 2,415 while 85,917 people have recovered including 361 on the day.
