Shillong, Jan 29: The Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) is up for yet another bout of political changes.

The changes were triggered after the Executive Committee (EC) led by Benedic Marak lost the no confidence motion by 13-15.

The current EC now stands dissolved and voting for the formation of the new EC will take place on Jan 31.

Chairman Rakesh Sangma has resigned from his position and is most likely to lead the new EC as Chief Executive Member (CEM).

It may be mentioned that a special session was convened on Jan 29 after 15 MDCs had on January 25 sought leave from the chairman to move a motion of no-confidence against the CEM.
