SHILLONG, Jan 29: The High Court of Meghalaya has suspended its normal functioning till February 4.
A circular issued by the Registrar General said that considering the prevalent situation of unceasing COVID-19 pandemic and surge of cases and for routine sanitisation of the High Court, the Chief Justice has directed that the normal functioning of the Court will remain suspended from January 31 till February 4 or until further order, whichever is earlier.
Mukul, wife test positive
Former chief minister Mukul Sangma and his wife, Sadhiarani Sangma tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday.
“I and my wife both have tested positive for COVID-19. Both of us are doing well except for mild symptoms.
Friends who’ve come into close contact with us are requested to self isolate for few days and observe for any symptoms and get tested if needed,” Mukul tweeted.
3 deaths, 320 fresh cases
The state on Saturday recorded 320 fresh cases while three more patients succumbed to the viral infection in the past 24 hours taking the death toll to 1,518.
The active tally stands at 2,410 while 86,585 people have recovered from the viral infection including 320 on the day.
