NEPA win 2nd Div cricket final

SHILLONG, Jan 31: North Eastern Police Academy (NEPA) emerged winners of the Shillong Cricket Association Second Division league after a 33-run victory over Raj Bhavan in a closely-fought contest, here on Monday.
Batting first after winning the toss, NEPA struggled to maintain momentum as they lost wickets at regular intervals before being dismissed for a low total of 108 in 19.1 overs. Player-of-the-Match Manikant Sinha, with his knock of 29 runs that came off 40 balls was the highest score while Chandan contributed 18.
Raj Bhavan’s bowlers had a field day with Daba Waiba claiming 4/18 from 4 overs and Tarok Sinha taking 4/19.
However, needing only 109 for a win, Raj Bhavan’s batters failed to put up any resistance and they were bundled out for a paltry 75 in 18.2 overs. The only highlight of the innings was Sunil Yadav’s quickfire 21 that came off only 10 balls.
Subrata Sinha was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/15 from 4 overs while Manikant took 2/11.
Manikant also walked home with the Player of the Series award for his consistent performance throughout.
