BSF intercepts bike-borne smugglers, seize drugs

SHILLONG, Feb 5: The BSF Meghalaya Frontier, in its continual crackdown on transborder crimes, on Saturday foiled a smuggling bid near Ranikor, West Khasi Hills, and confiscated 2,850 Yaba tablets.
According to the BSF, two persons were headed to the area of BSF BOP Barsora on a two-wheeler, carrying the contraband items, valued at approximately Rs 4.27 lakh, with an intention to smuggle them into Bangladesh. However, they were intercepted and subsequently apprehended by the BSF personnel.
An FIR has also been lodged against the duo at Ranikor Police Station.
The two along with the seized items have been handed over to the police. (With agency inputs)
