SHILLONG, Feb 5: BJP Meghalaya in charge, M Chuba Ao expressed confidence that the internal problems in the BJP could be resolved soon.
Some BJP leaders are demanding party state president Ernest Mawrie’s ouster. Ao said these are the party’s ex-office bearers.
“We have to reach out to them and understand their problem,” the BJP leader said.
“I have met him (Mawrie) and told him that we will work out a solution. However, until and unless I meet both parties, I cannot comment on the matter,” Ao added.
BJP leader and Union Law Minister, Kiren Rijiju said there will always be differences of opinions in any democratic setup, but it is important to work together as a team.
It is noteworthy that the dissident camp in the state Bharatiya Janata Party has compiled a “failed” report against the party’s state president Ernest Mawrie for signing and submitting to the BJP high command.
“The report against Mawrie is ready and expected to be signed by more than 1,000 party members underlining his failed presidentship. The report has details of how many leaders have resigned from the state level down to the mandals in protest against his leadership,” S. Thabah, the BJP’s Ri-Bhoi district president said.
