TURA, Feb 8: Several groups from Samanda in East Garo Hills on Tuesday alleged the sub-standard construction of the Maternity Ward building at Samanda PHC and submitted a complaint to the DM&HO in Williamnagar on the same day.

Local organizations from Samanda like the GSU, FKJGP and AAYF, after receiving complaints from the public paid a visit to the construction site where they found that the construction is being done not as per the plan and estimate.

In their complaint to the DM&HO, the organization alleged that the building was being constructed without sufficient pillars and weak foundation which would pose safety risks in the future.

The organizations, while seeking action against the contractor concerned, has urged the concerned department to direct him to rectify the construction with enough support and foundation.
