Assault
One Arnias Nongsiej (19), a resident of Umiap Village near Langpih (WKH) was found in an unconscious state in a forest near Maw Dum Dum Village near Rambrai. Arnias is a coal labourer of Maweit in West Khasi Hills. Villagers of Maw Dum Dum found him unconscious in the forest as they were out looking for vegetables. They immediately informed the headman of the village, who informed the police. The police suspected that the assaulters, after beating, left him in a small cave there. Arnias however dragged himself out of the cave but lost conscious thereafter. Arnias was brought to Civil Hospital Nongstoin. Arnias said that there were about 7-8 people that assaulted him. He identified one of them as Banri.
One Shivnath Kumar Rai lodged a complaint at Madanrting PS that on March 1 at about 6.30 pm, Naresh Rai stabbed him with a sharp weapon at Madanrting, Shillong and also assaulted his brother, Biswanath Rai. As a result, the victims sustained injuries and shifted to CH, Shillong.
Threat
On March 4 at around 6.30 pm, one Kamal S. Roy threatened Cecila Shangrang with dire consequences at Upper Lumsohra, Laitumkhrah.
Firing case
One Nidawan Iakai lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on March 2 at around 7.30 pm, unknown miscreants opened fire at a gathering in Mynkrem, Lumsohphoh village (WJH). As a result, one Nidin Lakai sustained bullet injuries on his leg. Later, three persons, Laderwan Passah, Chirup Shulet and Sumar Phyllei also sustained minor injuries from catapult shot. In this connection, Police arrested Brante Phyllei and Ribormi Phyllei.
Rape
A woman lodged a complaint at Umsning OP that on February 28 at around 11 pm, one Sotrong Laloo, Headman raped her at the village (RB).
