SHILLONG, Feb 10: The core committee of BJP Meghalaya will meet on Friday to discuss the latest political development in the state and the decision of the National People’s Party-led MDA Government to welcome the five Congress MLAs into the alliance.
Confirming this, BJP Meghalaya in-charge, M Chuba Ao said he would attend Friday’s meeting in Shillong.
The core committee meeting will also be attended by the two party MLAs, Sanbor Shullai & AL Hek, and state president Ernest Mawrie, among others.
“We will discuss the matter and make our stand clear on the matter,” Ao said.
The state BJP, as it appears, seems divided on the Congress entry into the MDA. Mawrie has made it clear that BJP and Congress cannot work together but the two MLAs have pointed out that they had no problems in working with the Congress under the banner of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance.
