“I am presuming that the MHA is waiting for those reports to come in. I am sure the MHA will call us for a meeting in a very short time,” Sangma said.
He said Union Home Minister Amit Shah had called him and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for a meeting.
“But due to his busy schedule, we had to postpone the meeting. I expect the meeting will take place very soon,” the chief minister said.
The two states had submitted the reports of their regional committees on the Assam-Meghalaya boundary disputes and apprised Shah of the situation.

Interlocutor for peace talks with HNLC
Sangma also said the state government has identified a list of names for the appointment of an interlocutor for the peace talks with the banned Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC).
“We are at an advanced stage and have already shortlisted the names for an interlocutor. We will take the next step once we formally communicate and get a signal from the MHA and the Centre,” he told reporters.
He said he will be meeting officials of the MHA after reaching Delhi on Tuesday.
“I will be briefing them about the development taking place and discuss with them how to take things forward,” the Chief Minister said.
Sangma said the state government has started the initial exercise before it received a formal communication from the banned militant outfit.
