BSF organises medical camp in East Jaintia Hills

Shillong, Feb 17:  A free ENT and eye check-up of bordering villagers done in a Medical camp held under civic action programme by 97 Battalion, BSF. Medical camp organised under the supervision of H. S. Rawat, Commandant, 97 Bn BSF at village Umkiang near BSF BOP Umkiang.

The unique initiative by the battalion for taking care of the health of the people of the border rural area in its area of responsibility has received overwhelming response from bordering villagers of East Jaintia Hills district.

During the free medical camp, almost 215 villagers were medically examined and provided medical aid accordingly. During the programme, villagers expressed their happiness and gratitude on friendly gesture shown by BSF.

During the camp, the medical officers Dr. Arghya Jyoti Ghosh, GDMO (ENT), Krishnendu Roy, Senior Optometrist and Dr Dameshwa Paslein, AC/MO of 193 Bn BSF rendered their services and motivated the patients to remain careful about their health.

The Commandant, 97 Bn BSF reminded local people that BSF is committed to provide all kind of assistance for their well being and assured them that BSF will conduct this type of programmes in future as per requirement of border villages.
