SHILLONG, Feb 22: Newly floated political party, Voice of the People’s Party (VPP), will soon be announcing the first list of candidates for the upcoming 2023 Assembly polls.
Sources said that the party is trying to field candidates who have excelled in their respective fields, especially education. Altogether 15 candidates are expected to be announced in the first list.
Among the prominent names to feature in the first list include NEHU lecturer, Ricky J Syngkon from Umsning, Assistant Professor of St. Anthony’s College, Brighstarwell Marbaniang from Mawlai, Assistant Professor of Lady Keane College, Londoner Murphy Sohtun from North Shillong, Aibandap L Nonglait from Mylliem, Rev. Shanlang Warjri from Mairang, Winston Tony Lyngdoh from Mawkynrew and Assistant Manager of HSBC Bank, Danny Langstieh from South Shillong.
