SHILLONG: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma on Tuesday hinted that he might consider rotating his Cabinet Ministers if the situation so demanded.

“In the pursuit to achieve our goal I would not like to see the team constituted today to remain stagnant,” Dr Sangma replied, when asked whether he would rotate his Cabinet Ministers similar to what is being practiced by the UPA Government at the Centre.

The Chief Minister, however, made it clear that it was not a question of performance or non-performance.

“At the end of the day, we will look at how best we can serve as a collective team,” Dr Sangma added.

He also asserted that at present he was not contemplating anything since their main focus lay on building a team which would represent and respond to the aspirations of the people.

“We have just made a beginning, and obviously our intention is to ensure that each one of us are in a position to give the best for the benefit of the people and the State, and with that objective whatever is required to be done we will definitely do,” the Chief Minister said after the swearing-in of the 11 Cabinet Ministers on Tuesday.

He assured that they would conduct reviews from time to time to come up with a team which will represent the collective aspirations of the people.
