President Kovind arrives in Kaziranga National Park for two-day visit

Guwahati, Feb 26:President Ram Nath Kovind  and his family members today arrived in Kaziranga National Park in a helicopter for a two-day visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The President in the company of Assam Chief Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma arrived in Bokakhat helipad near Kazranga National Park after he had addressed the convocation in Tezpur Central University. The President arrived in Guwahati on Friday.

Assam Forest Minister Parimal Suklavaidya and Agriculture Minister and the MLA of Bokakhat LAC, Atul Borah received the President at Bokakhat Helipad on his arrival.

“It’s an honor to receive Hon’ble president of India Prof Ram Nath Kovind ji at Bokakhat helipad for his two-day visit to Kaziranga Nationl Park. The visit of Hon’ble president of India to Kaziranga National Park will really boost the morale of forest department  engaged in conservation of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Earlier in 1982, the then President of India  (Late) Neelam Sanjiva Reddy  had visited Kaziranga National Park.”

The President will stay the night in the national park, in a plus resort named Iora. The authorities of the national park and the state government have made elaborate security arrangement for the visit of the President to the National Park known for it diverse faunal resources including the one-horned rhino, Royal Bengal Tiger, Elephant, Asiatic buffalo, swamp deer, spotted deer, numerous  water fowls and many more.
