ICMR project to be boon for state’s healthcare sector: James

SHILLONG, Feb 26: Health Minister James Sangma on Friday said that the Phase II of ICMR – STEMI ACT PROJECT, which was launched on Friday, will be a boon to the ones suffering from heart attacks in Meghalaya.
Shedding light, the health minister further informed that lower-income groups will greatly benefit from the ICMR project as clot buster medicines will be provided free-of-cost to all eligible patients under the same.
NEIGRIHMS Director Dr. Nalin Mehta, on the other hand, informed that the project focuses on timely intervention in cases of heart attacks and saves lives by initiating treatment of block arteries of the heart within first 90 minutes by administering clot buster (Thrombolytics) medicine.
