SHILLONG: Shella legislator Donkupar Roy (UDP) on Friday urged the Government to take steps to give a facelift to the Government colleges in terms of infrastructure and other facilities.

“It is sad that private colleges are doing better compared to the Government colleges. We need to change this trend and see that the Government colleges outshine private colleges in the years to come even in the pass percentage of the students. I know it is a difficult task but it is not impossible,” Dr Roy said in the Assembly.

The UDP president also asked the Government to establish Meghalaya Houses in Chennai and Bengalaru.

“So far we do not have our own house in these very important cities in the country,” Roy said.
